Focal tracks

Upon completing required core modules, UCL MBA students have the option to take modules in three focal tracks: Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management.

Focal tracks enable students to develop specialised expertise that aligns with their professional aspirations and interests. Students may pursue a single focal track or complete modules across all three.

Three focal track modules satisfy 45 of the 60 advanced elective credits required for graduation. To complete the advanced elective requirement, students who choose to pursue a focal track must take one additional advanced core module.

Business Analytics

The Business Analytics focal track is designed for professionals who want to develop advanced, data-driven solutions to complex business problems.

This focal track allows more quantitatively minded students to develop an even deeper understanding of more advanced analytical uses and techniques than have been covered within the core modules.

In an increasingly competitive startup landscape, aspiring entrepreneurs need to know how to transform great ideas into sustainable, profitable ventures.

Students in the Entrepreneurship focal track will learn how to move beyond established corporate environments, engage with the larger startup community (including venture capitalists and angel investors) and create businesses that scale.

Innovation Management

Students in the Innovation Management focal track will learn how to fill the innovation gap that exists across so many organisations, teams and executives.

Modules focus on developing a comprehensive, scalable approach to innovation, one that accounts for the many variables – including people, technology and operations – that impact an organisation’s ability to weather uncertainty and manage change.
